Kann mich gar nicht erinnern, dass wir gelacht haben

Exhibition
April 18–July 26, 2026

Regular Opening hours
Wednesday–Friday, 2–6 p.m.
From April 23–26, 2026 closed for family reasons

The artist Max Kersting, grand master of absurd speech bubbles and captions, breathes new life into old, lost, and rediscovered photographs with Tipp-Ex and felt-tip pens. The images, torn from their original context, are given a surprising new interpretation through his additions – and thus appear sometimes funny, sometimes thoughtful, and often seemingly meaningless or absurd. Since he adds his texts by hand directly onto the analog images, each picture is unique. Max Kersting has already published several books, and his work is also known from ZEIT Magazine, the Süddeutsche Zeitung, Reihe 5 – the magazine of the Staatstheater Stuttgart, and is also very popular on social media. A comprehensive selection of originals, which he created especially for the exhibition, will be on display in the gallery from April. Curated by Anja Haas (Pudel Unlimited)
